Qualities & Qualifications:
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education
- Minimum 2 years’ team leadership/management experience
- Minimum 3 years’ nursery experience
- Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance
- Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities
- Knowledge of and commitment to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and SEN/inclusion
- Experience working as a key worker for a group of children and their families
- Ability to observe, assess and report on children’s behaviour
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, high‑quality education and care for children attending the nursery
- Fulfil legal and statutory requirements and supervise staff on a day‑to‑day basis
- Contribute to and implement nursery policies
- Lead the team, manage effectively and efficiently, and act as an effective mentor
- Ensure the provision of the nursery meets high standards of care for children, parents, and staff
- Manage day‑to‑day financial operations, meet financial targets, and maximise occupancy
- Set and monitor nursery goals and progress against targets
- Assess the quality of provision, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, best practice and standards
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Collaborate with parents and other staff to support children’s individual needs
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of all children
