Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, high‑quality education and care for children attending the nursery.
- Fulfil legal and statutory requirements and supervise staff on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Contribute to and implement Nursery policies.
- Lead the team effectively, manage efficiently, and foster positive working relationships as an effective mentor.
- Ensure children, parents and staff collaborate to deliver high‑quality childcare.
- Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations, meet financial targets and manage occupancy to achieve maximum capacity.
- Set nursery goals, monitor progress, and report on attainment against targets.
- Monitor and assess quality of provision, ensuring policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Collaborate with parents and staff to support children’s individual needs.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to safeguard all children.
Qualifications:
- Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education.
- Minimum 1 year’s team leadership/management experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ nursery experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted statutory guidance.
- Practical experience in implementing high‑quality learning opportunities.
- Knowledge of and commitment to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and SEN/Inclusive practice.
- Experience as a key worker for a group of children and families.
- Ability to observe, assess and report on children’s behaviour.
