If you are an experienced Dental Nurse looking to step away from full‑time chairside work but still want to make a real impact in the profession, Tempdent is looking for passionate dental professionals to join our team as Workplace Assessors. You will support learners completing the Diploma in Dental Nursing, visiting them in their dental practices to observe and assess their skills in real clinical environments. You’ll work closely with learners, employers and the Tempdent team to ensure apprentices progress successfully and are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment (EPA).
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and carry out workplace assessments for Dental Nursing learners within required timelines.
- Communicate effectively with practice managers and learners when arranging assessment visits.
- Ensure all relevant clinical treatments are booked and ready for observation.
- Provide constructive and supportive feedback to learners and employers.
- Manage your own assessment diary to maximise assessment opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and timely completion of assessment documentation.
- Support a caseload of learners and prepare them for End Point Assessment (EPA).
- Conduct Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities checks within dental practices.
- Facilitate communication between learners, employers and Tempdent.
- Attend team meetings, handovers and standardisation sessions.
- Work towards agreed targets and KPIs.
- Maintain GDC registration and CPD requirements.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, and best practice across all training environments.
- Qualified GDC registered Dental Nurse.
- Assessor qualification (CAVA or TAQA) or willingness to acquire.
- Experience working in a dental practice.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Confident using office software and digital systems.
- Ability to motivate and support learner.
- Experience assessing Dental Nursing qualifications or apprenticeships would be beneficial.
- Teaching or training qualification (AiET or willingness to acquire).
- Knowledge of or experience working in work‑based learning or apprenticeships.

- Maintains high professional and clinical standards.
