Job Overview

Driving Production, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Safety achievement for the production process by managing activity of Lead Operatives, Production Operatives and other resources and information. The Production Team Leader will have full responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Production Shift Manager by managing resources and processes to meet day-to-day requirements of a busy manufacturing operation.
  • Work in accordance with all health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure handling of materials and product meets required quality standards.
  • Ensure all production workstations are correctly equipped and all required documentation is completed.
  • Allocate Production Operatives to tasks and ensure they are fully trained.
  • Ensure Operatives are aware of production targets and regularly monitor performance against targets.
  • Utilise resources to resolve issues within the production area and elevate to the Production Shift Manager when necessary.
  • Ensure effective line clearance and setup of all workstations.
  • Maintain housekeeping of the area.
  • Verify completion of all required records and documentation to a high standard.
  • Continuously improve all aspects of the line, including resources, equipment, line flow, and efficiencies.
  • Manage safe wearing and compliance of all PPE requirements within the area.
  • Liaise with the training officer to identify training requirements, ensure all relevant training is up to date and complete documentation.
  • Liaise with HR to manage HR requirements within your area including absence process, holiday approvals, and performance issues.
  • Manage and oversee activity of employees in your area.
  • Responsible for all resources and equipment to meet the weekly plan.
  • Act as senior person on site outside dayshift hours in the absence of the Production Shift Manager.
  • Carry out any reasonable request as deemed appropriate by the Line Manager.
