As a Senior Care Assistant at our Goldenley Care Home in South Benfleet, you will be part of a compassionate and welcoming team providing physical, emotional, and social support to residents.
About the role:
- You will mentor a team of Care Assistants, report to the Home Manager, and work with ancillary teams, other Senior Care Assistants and registered nurses.
- Engage in meaningful activities with residents, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect.
- Create person-centred care plans and conduct risk assessments, with regular updates and reviews.
Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding care to residents with varying needs including dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health issues.
- Work 36 hours a week, typically 8am-8pm Monday to Sunday, with alternate weekend shifts.
- Support provision of medication administration via electronic e-MAR system.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
- Promote and model standard person-centred care best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with an NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, or 3 years experience without an NVQ.
- Experience in a nursing or care home or as a home care worker.
- Understanding of CQC and related regulatory frameworks.
- Desirable: Experience working with people suffering from dementia.
- Desirable: Experience prompting/administering medication using an e-MAR system (full training provided).
- Enthusiastic, inspiring, and caring attitude.
