Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of residential support workers
  • Ensure the home meets all regulatory and safeguarding standards
  • Deliver high-quality, child-centred care in line with individual care plans
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and supervision of staff
  • Support young people with daily routines, emotional development, and educational goals
  • Respond to challenging behaviour with empathy, professionalism, and consistency
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and logs
  • Provide on-call support on a rota basis

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a residential childcare setting
  • NVQ Level 3/4 in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent); Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work on a shift/rota basis (including weekends & sleep-ins)
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care
  • Resilience, compassion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence
