Bayley and Sage is a small group of 14 independent stores delivering superb food with a culture of respect, inclusion, and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Run shifts and assist (and deputise for) the Store Manager when absent to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Ensure good availability of stock, adequate staff cover, store cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Carry out quality checks and deal promptly with maintenance issues.
  • Handover shift completely and accurately to the next Shift Manager or Store Manager.
  • Supervise the team and ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Assist the Store Manager to maximise sales with minimum wastage, monitoring daily and weekly targets.
  • Ensure POS and labels are complete and correctly placed.
  • Participate in training, development, and supervision of the team, leading by example.
  • Support the Store Manager in ensuring Health and Safety compliance with current legislation and company policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service, process deliveries, display and merchandise stock, rotate stock with sell-by/use-by dates, serve and pack groceries.
  • Dispose of waste to correct containers and perform general cleaning duties.
