Bayley and Sage is a small group of 14 independent stores delivering superb food with a culture of respect, inclusion, and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Run shifts and assist (and deputise for) the Store Manager when absent to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Ensure good availability of stock, adequate staff cover, store cleanliness, and presentation.
- Carry out quality checks and deal promptly with maintenance issues.
- Handover shift completely and accurately to the next Shift Manager or Store Manager.
- Supervise the team and ensure outstanding customer service.
- Assist the Store Manager to maximise sales with minimum wastage, monitoring daily and weekly targets.
- Ensure POS and labels are complete and correctly placed.
- Participate in training, development, and supervision of the team, leading by example.
- Support the Store Manager in ensuring Health and Safety compliance with current legislation and company policy.
- Provide excellent customer service, process deliveries, display and merchandise stock, rotate stock with sell-by/use-by dates, serve and pack groceries.
- Dispose of waste to correct containers and perform general cleaning duties.
