The Electrical Estimator is responsible for the preparation, submission and management of electrical tenders allocated. The main objective of this role is to achieve accurate net costs in accordance with the tender documents.
What you will be doing?
- Accurately quantify material, plant and labour requirements.
- Prepare estimates utilising in house estimating software system.
- Compile and issue tender queries.
- Undertake comparison of subcontractor, supplier, and specialist quotations.
- Attend site surveys as required.
- Contribute to tender risk and opportunity registers.
- Preparation of tender documentation for submission.
- Attend pre contract / post tender meetings.
Is this the job for me?
The successful candidate will need a minimum of 5 years' experience working in the Electrical Sector and have a clear knowledge of the requirements. Minimum of five years' experience in an Estimator role or relevant trade qualification and background. The ability to read, interpret and understand specifications and drawings. Experience of computerised estimating software. The ability to think ahead, plan and prioritise workload. The ability to work with the minimum of supervision. Numeracy and literacy skills. The ability to work as part of a team. The ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. A proactive approach to problem solving. PC Skills: Computer literacy including MS Office.
