As a Senior Care Assistant/Team Leader at Stanley Wilson Lodge Care Home in Saffron Walden, Essex, you will provide physical, emotional, and social support to residents, mentor a team of Care Assistants, and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding person‑centred care.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and support Care Assistants; ensure high standards of care.
- Collaborate with the Home Manager, ancillary teams, registered nurses, and other senior staff.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities, promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect.
- Create and maintain person‑centred care plans and risk assessments; conduct regular reviews.
- Administer medication using the electronic e‑MAR system (training provided).
- Work 8 pm–8 am, 48 hours a week, including alternate weekends.
Qualifications and Experience
- Two years’ experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant with NVQ 2/3 in Health and Social Care, or three years’ experience without an NVQ.
- Experience in a nursing or care home, or as a home care worker.
- Understanding of Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulatory frameworks.
- Desirable experience in dementia care and electronic medication administration.
- Enthusiastic, inspiring, and caring individual with passion for the role.
