Job Type: Full‑time Contract (rolling nights only)

Shift Pattern: 5 on/3 off (Wednesday‑Sunday 60 hrs); 4 on/2 off (Thursday‑Sunday 48 hrs) – average 54 hrs per week

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and maintain high standards of professionalism.
  • Anticipate clients' requirements and ensure their expectations are met and exceeded each day.
  • Cover Security Control Room holidays/absences and monitor all security and building management systems, supporting the Security Supervisor.
  • Maintain a high security awareness at all times and adopt a proactive approach to emerging situations.
  • Be a visible, customer‑focused professional – greet clients and visitors where possible.
  • Proactively monitor and respond to suspicious activities or persons using CCTV surveillance systems.
  • Manage the fault log and follow‑up on Help Desk or callout requests.
  • Monitor information from internal and external agencies (news feeds, social media, intelligence) and respond appropriately.
  • Perform Security Protective and Building Management System checks.
  • Use communication equipment such as radios for efficient and effective incident response.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety policies are adhered to.
  • Manage Loading Bay operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of any incidents that occur.
  • Complete comprehensive incident reports to a high standard within a reasonable time.
  • Oversee and manage any emergency evacuations in your area of responsibility, making difficult decisions in fast‑developing emergencies.
  • Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with Assignment Instructions.
  • Provide a detailed handover at the end of each shift.

Qualifications

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor and SIA CCTV licence (must obtain CCTV licence if not already held to pass probation).
  • Professional, highly driven, flexible, enthusiastic, proactive, self‑motivated team player.
  • Reliable and always alert when working night shifts.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently with confidence, using own initiative as required, especially in highly dynamic emergency situations.
  • Willingness to seek opportunities to enhance client/visitor experience.
  • Clear, concise, and confident communication skills oriented to customer service with a keen eye for detail.
  • Confidence and common sense to access and utilize resources when making decisions.
  • Maintain and practice a high degree of confidentiality at all times.
  • Computer literate, able to write professional emails and proficient with security systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Acute sense of security awareness.
  • Verifiable 5 years of continuous work employment and/or academic history without gaps.
  • Good understanding of one‑team ethos and importance of supporting the wider team.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay rate: £14.80 per hour.
  • Holiday entitlement: 25.2 days (inclusive of bank holidays).
