Vigilant Security are offering an exciting opportunity for a security professional to join our expanding team, working with a high‑profile client located in Edinburgh. The officer will be responsible for servicing many sites in Edinburgh, providing relief for static guarding at any of our 22 sites across the city. Relief driver to our mobile response/patrol staff (nights or weekend only). Future opportunities for supervisor posts when available.

Scope: Relief for static guarding at any of our 22 sites across the city. SIA Licence and Driving Licence is required. The officer will be responsible for maintaining the day‑to‑day security requirements at various prestigious sites, maintaining a good corporate image and high standards of professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Mobile patrols, lock ups and unlocks.
  • Undertake response to alarm activations on request from the communications centre.
  • Undertake site visit inspections in accordance with management instructions.
  • Proficient use of relevant communications equipment.
  • Ensuring all H&S policies are adhered to.
  • Assist staff and visitors to the sites.
  • Ensuring that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of any incidents that occur.
  • Always maintain a high security awareness.
  • Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with management instructions.

Key Accountabilities – Mobile Team / Keyholding:

  • Ensure the company vehicle is always road worthy (daily vehicle checks).
  • Respond to all alarm activations in a timely manner.
  • Accurately report all findings from alarm activations.
  • Maintain an accurate record of any incidents that occur using the appropriate reporting procedure.
  • Unlock/lock up client's premises in line with the Assignment Instructions and client's procedures.
  • Ensure all relevant information is passed over on handover.
  • Complete schedules to record site visits.
  • Complete all required key registers and seal logs.
  • Inform line managers of any changes to details/job specifics/issues at site.

Personal Specification:

  • Current SIA licence.
  • Full clean driving licence (held for a minimum of 5 years).
  • Experience with mobile and key holding duties preferred.
  • Smart and confident.
  • Reliable and self‑motivated.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good IT skills, use of Samsung Tablet.
