This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll support and guide night teams, ensure guest safety and service standards, and manage key overnight processes including audits, security checks, and guest support. Working across multiple properties, you'll play a vital role in maintaining consistency, communication and operational excellence throughout the night.

About the Hotels

Together, The Bosville, Marmalade and The Bracken Hide offer three distinct four‑star experiences in and around Portree. From the boutique charm and harbour views of The Bosville, to the design‑led elegance of Marmalade set within mature gardens, and the wilderness escape of The Bracken Hide with its Scandi‑style cabins and expansive grounds, each hotel has its own character and style. Across all three properties, guests enjoy warm Highland hospitality, contemporary interiors and destination dining that celebrates Skye's land and sea. From freshly landed seafood and prime Scottish meats, to locally foraged ingredients, complemented by inviting bars and relaxing spaces to unwind.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support night porters across all three Portree properties, ensuring strong teamwork and consistent standards.
  • Organise team members’ schedules, on‑job training and coaching, and maintain roster coverage.
  • Manage overnight hotel operations including late check‑ins, early departures and guest enquiries.
  • Complete night audits, reporting and system updates to ensure accurate financial and operational records.
  • Conduct regular security and safety checks throughout the hotels.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of public areas overnight.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to guest concerns, incidents or emergencies.
  • Prepare clear handovers and reports for daytime management teams.
  • Support breakfast preparation and ensure morning operations are ready for the day team.
  • Provide guidance and training to night staff to support their development and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene and licensing standards during night operations.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a night management, night supervisor or senior reception role within hospitality.
  • Confidence working independently and managing operations overnight.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Calm, professional decision‑making in fast‑paced or challenging situations.
