Seasonal Luggage & Linen Porter – The Bracken Hide Hotel, Portree, Isle of Skye

Location: Struan Road, Portree, Isle of Skye.

Pay: An hourly rate of £13.85 (+ £1.00 housing allowance for those who do not require subsidised staff accommodation) plus tips & service charge. 28 days annual leave, subsidised staff accommodation (in certain locations), company pension scheme, complimentary 24‑hour Skye gym membership, employee assistance programme, cycle to work scheme and staff discounts on Perle Hotels’ rooms, dining and spa. “Refer a Friend” bonus scheme available.

About The Bracken Hide: Perched high above Portree, The Bracken Hide is a luxury wilderness resort spread across 52 acres of rugged hillside overlooking the Sound of Raasay. 45 timber hides are connected by scenic paths and surrounded by wild beauty. The Bracken hosts the Am Braigh restaurant, a whisky bar, a plunge pool and Estonian saunas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport guest luggage and housekeeping supplies between hides and The Bracken using electric golf buggies.
  • Deliver fresh linens, towels and amenities to housekeeping stations across the site.
  • Assist with luggage collection and delivery for arriving and departing guests.
  • Support the housekeeping team with moving stock, waste and deliveries as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of service areas, buggies and storage spaces.
  • Conduct regular vehicle checks to ensure buggies are charged, clean and safe.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols when operating vehicles on uneven terrain.
  • Provide friendly, helpful guest service; often the first and last person guests meet.
  • Assist other departments during busy periods; teamwork is key on the hillside.
  • Uphold all health, safety and hygiene standards, including COSHH compliance.

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
  • Confidence driving small electric vehicles safely on uneven, sloped and occasionally muddy terrain.
  • Good physical fitness, able to lift and carry luggage and supplies safely.
  • Reliable, responsible and safety‑conscious at all times.
  • A team player with strong communication skills and a can‑do attitude.
  • Pride in presentation and attention to detail, both personally and in work.
