BJF Group is a leading multidiscipline Main Contractor based across the UK, specialising in delivering high quality construction projects across various sectors. Within our Facilities Management division, the Southwest Core team plays a crucial role in the day‑to‑day delivery of reactive and preventative works across a diverse range of properties and systems within our client’s sites - as a Site Service Manager. You will be expected to provide comprehensive repairs and maintenance to a range of commercial installations.
Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day operational site activities ensuring site procedures and processes are in place and operating effectively.
- Ensure all works undertaken by the Delivery team and Supply Chain are delivered to the required standard and in accordance with BJF Group and the client’s policies.
- Provide leadership, motivation, mentoring and line‑management responsibilities for site‑based teams.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery of all Planned Maintenance tasks to ensure statutory and mandatory compliance.
- Maintain site statutory compliance, provide assurance and identify compliance failures, mitigating action and escalating where appropriate.
- Consult with client to ensure priorities are appropriate; provide cost information to line management to progress chargeable works.
- Ensure delivery of works and interface with Site Management and customers to confirm requirements.
- Support Contract Manager with organising team members’ workloads for efficient time use.
- Make regular checks on all tools and equipment used by team members to ensure they are working correctly and record information.
Qualifications
- Hold an industry recognised qualification, e.g., City & Guilds / NVQ or similar in an appropriate engineering subject.
- Hold an industry recognised H&S qualification (IOHS or similar).
- Managerial experience at supervisor level within a technical or hard services background.
- Proven experience in recruitment and line‑management of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
- Numerate and computer literate.
- Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity.
