BJF Group is a leading multi-discipline Main Contractor based across the UK, specialising in delivering high-quality construction projects across various sectors - priding ourselves on our reputation for excellence and attention to detail. Within our M&E division, the engineering team plays a crucial role in the day-to-day delivery of planned works across a diverse range of properties and systems within large Mechanical & Electrical contracts.

Your role will include:

  • Deliver high-quality installation of commercial plumbing and mechanical pipework systems across a diverse range of M&E projects.
  • Carry out installation, testing, and commissioning of pipework systems within plant rooms, energy centres, boiler houses, and mechanical service areas.
  • Install pipework and associated systems serving AHUs, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, HIUs, and HVAC equipment.
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient installation.
  • Install carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and plastic pipe systems using appropriate jointing methods.
  • Work strictly in accordance with approved method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Complete and review point-of-work risk assessments prior to commencing installation activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and company IMS policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to deliver projects on programme.
  • Prepare bills of materials, raise material requisitions, and manage site materials to support installation works.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience in domestic/commercial/industrial plumbing & pipework fitting and heating engineering.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Pipework.
  • G3 Unvented Competent Person Certificate.
  • WRAS - Water Industry Approved Plumbers' Scheme (WIAPS).
  • CSCS Card Holder.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proven track record of commercial plumbing, pipework, and heating engineering.
  • Ability to read and clearly understand drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work with a degree of autonomy and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
  • Understanding of current standards and regulations.
  • Interpretation of drawings, schedules and specifications.
  • Testing, inspection and problem resolution.
  • Basic report writing.
  • Support project teams in the preparation of schedules and quotations.
  • Collaboration with clients, sub-contractors and other trades.
