We have a fantastic opportunity for a Full‑time permanent Dispatch Operative at Abp Perth. If you have a passion for customer excellence and you are a real team player this may be the role for you.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pallets of stock for delivery/loading onto trailers and be responsible for ensuring product is built and wrapped in the best possible condition for the customer.
  • Ensure all tasks performed are as per training given and comply with safe working procedures.
  • Load and unload vehicles and trailers with fresh meat produce.
  • Reach truck operation required to store pallets from production and drop pallets for order picking from racking system.
  • Full training to be given on completion of probation period.
  • Ensure customer orders are filled correctly, strict rotation of stock and correct loading of trailers.
  • Have a competent level of arithmetic to ensure all stock is scanned correctly on pallets.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Responsible for booking in/out of product.
  • Being able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Liaise effectively with the team and the Sales Department.
  • Stacking trays/boxes onto pallets from the abattoir production line.
  • Assist fridge staff as and when required.
  • Carry out and complete daily forklift inspection reports (once trained).
  • Responsible for keeping the loading bay in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Provide a polite and efficient service for calling customers.
  • Communicate well with the Despatch Supervisor and all other team members at all times.
  • Train and develop by identifying training needs and opportunities and bring any skill shortfalls/difficulties to the attention of the Supervisor.
  • Carry out all assigned tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly with regard to Health and Safety and Food Safety.
  • Ensure that where PPE is provided for any of the above tasks it is correctly worn/used, maintained and any defects reported to the relevant key colleagues.
  • Have a flexible approach to workloads/hours to ensure agreed throughput and yield targets are met.
  • Report any problems regarding equipment/machinery to management.
  • Adhere to company hygiene practices and safe food production at all times, and comply with health and safety policy to prevent/minimise the risk of accidents.
  • Any other duties as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar type of role and be suited to working in a fast paced environment; however full training will be provided.
