This role leads accurate, compliant and timely payroll delivery across multiple international jurisdictions. Based in the UK, it reports to the Chief People Officer and works closely with the UK Administration & Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for the US, Canada, the Netherlands and Australia using the ADP system. The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to People, Finance and key stakeholders, ensuring robust controls, strong governance and an excellent employee experience across all payroll activity.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations for the UK, US, Canada, the Netherlands and Australia, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Manage payroll processing through ADP, maintaining strong data quality, process consistency and system integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation, tax requirements, statutory deductions and reporting obligations in each country.
  • Partner closely with the Chief People Officer, UK Payroll Manager, People team, Finance team and external payroll providers to deliver a seamless payroll service.
  • Review and approve payroll inputs including starters, leavers, contractual changes, bonuses, benefits, deductions and statutory payments.
  • Own payroll controls, reconciliations, audit readiness and documentation to reduce risk and support internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including reporting, journals, reconciliations and statutory submissions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, reporting and controls, driving standardisation and continuous improvement across jurisdictions.
  • Provide expert guidance on payroll-related queries, resolving issues promptly and maintaining a high standard of employee and stakeholder service.
  • Monitor changes in payroll legislation and ADP functionality, recommending updates to policies, processes and controls where needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a global or international payroll management role covering multiple countries.
  • Strong practical knowledge of payroll operations, controls, compliance and statutory requirements across international jurisdictions.
  • Experience working with ADP payroll systems in a multi-country environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage complex payroll cycles, reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders, including People and Finance leadership.
  • Sound understanding of payroll data governance, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • Advanced Excel and payroll reporting skills are highly desirable.
  • Relevant payroll qualification or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
