The SCAPE Group is a not-for-profit organisation that works with the public sector to deliver essential built environment projects. We are looking for a Strategic HR Business Partner to join our established multidisciplinary People HR Team and make a real impact by proactively contributing to best practice HR solutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the Head of People and collaborate across learning, development, recruitment and reward to deliver our People Strategy.
  • Act as a senior adviser, providing expert advice on complex employee relations matters to manage risk and maintain good employee relations.
  • Lead on governance and compliance, ensuring operational excellence across all HR policies and processes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leaders on succession, organisational and workforce design, performance and culture.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on complex/high-risk HR issues and cases.
  • Write, review and implement modern, compliant, fair HR policies and practices aligned with our values.
  • Drive compliance across the organisation by staying up to date with employment law.
  • Support and advise on change management, restructuring, redundancies and TUPE processes.
  • Interpret data across key HR metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive organisational culture, championing diversity and employee wellbeing.

What you’ll bring:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • IPD qualification or relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of handling complex HR casework up to Employment Tribunal.
  • Significant experience managing disciplinary, performance, health, redundancy situations and TUPE regulations.
  • Knowledge of current employment legislation and best practice in HR.
  • Understanding of sustainability in the workplace and a commitment to support the business with its carbon reduction strategy.
  • Desirable: Project Management qualification, knowledge of payroll and pension management.
