We are now recruiting for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance team. Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, this role requires a multi‑skilled engineer with an electrical and mechanical background, preferably having worked in the Manufacturing industry. The main responsibility will be planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance of equipment and responding to breakdowns in a timely manner. You will be challenged to reduce onsite downtime and look at company improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance of equipment, the plant and water treatment tasks.
  • Ensuring that company and legislated Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Responding to breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Diagnosing faults and obtaining components, fixtures or fittings.
  • Maintaining equipment records and other records as required.
  • Creating maintenance procedures.
  • Managing stocks of supplies and equipment.
  • Carrying out quality inspections.
  • Checking the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits.

Qualifications & Experience

  • GCSE grade A-C in Maths and Science (or equivalent).
  • Relevant qualifications (City and Guilds or above in Engineering Maintenance or similar).
  • 17th Edition / 18th Edition is desirable.
  • Proven experience of electrical fault finding.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced / rapidly growing organisation is desirable.
  • Upvc / Extrusion Industry specific experience is desirable.

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Previous experience as a Multi‑Skilled Engineer is essential.
  • Relevant technical knowledge with good electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices would be advantageous.

Hours of Work

Continental night shift pattern 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m., 4 on, 4 off. Salary dependent on experience.
