We are seeking self‑motivated, hands‑on individuals to join our Production Department as Trainee Manufacturing Operatives. The role is based in a dedicated production cell and will develop into a top‑class practical Manufacturing Operative with expert knowledge in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assembly of the Niftylift product range.
Responsibilities
- Perform a range of manufacturing and production operations to required quality standard, on time and within commercial competition cost budgets.
- Operate to high quality workmanship standards within a manufacturing cell / flow line production environment.
- Carry out mechanical assembly, hydraulic and electrical installation, fitting/fabrication, painting, preparation and logistics / materials handling.
- Participate in team meetings, follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, tidy and safe working area.
Qualifications and Entry Criteria
- Minimum of 2 GCSEs (or equivalent), Grade 3 or above in Maths and English, or Functional Skills Level 1.
- Good manual dexterity, problem‑solving skills, proven mechanical assembly knowledge and a proven willingness to learn.
- Dynamic team player who can work within a manufacturing cell / flow line production environment.
- Willingness to work structured hours (08.00 – 16.30 Monday – Friday) with regular overtime if required.
Aspirations – Apprenticeship Pathway
- EAL Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge).
- EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills).
- Practical Skills Training in hand‑fitting, mechanical device maintenance, fluid power systems assembly and electrical testing.
- Progression to Level 3 apprenticeship, subject to internal criteria and successful completion of Level 2.
Working Hours & Salary
- Structured Apprenticeship rates aligned with year 1‑4 status and age.
- Starting salary – approximately £16,640, increasing to NMW after the first year.
- Regular overtime opportunities if over 18.
