Tony Gee and Partners is looking for a talented and dynamic individual who is ready to take the next step in their career to join our thriving energy business. With the opportunity of working across a large portfolio of multi-million-pound design schemes, you will have the chance to help develop and implement a strategy for future diversification and growth in this UK sector with the potential to support our efforts further afield too.
Full-time and part-time candidates will be considered for this position. The candidate should have a proven track record in delivering design, working within multidisciplinary design teams in the Energy sector. This should include preparation of feasibility, outline, and detailed designs. A good understanding of working on UK based projects and experience and knowledge of the Power & Energy sector is essential, preferably in the Transmission and Distribution market. A proven track record in the management and financial control of projects is also required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the skills required to win new work and build long term successful client relationships. The candidate must be a team player with good interpersonal skills, and keen to provide guidance and mentoring of less experienced staff. The role would suit a dynamic individual with a desire to grow and develop a team.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of Transmission & Distribution projects across the UK as part of our Project Leadership cohort.
- Work to reinforce existing and form new relationships with key clients and stakeholders to realise growth plan targets of our Energy sector.
- Guiding mind for the project delivery team, supporting and co-ordinating our Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Lead Engineers, and Design Managers in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Balancing how projects are adequately resourced from a capability, capacity, and an individual's career growth plan perspective.
- Ensuring that the PMO team are monitoring and controlling project costs to time and budget.
- Test and pro-actively challenge our internal teams on their approach to design delivery, time and cost management and their quality output.
- Review design deliverables as and when required during the design life cycle to add value to our design service and enhance the team's capability.
- Ensuring that the project activities comply with Company Health and Safety procedures, CDM regulations and relevant H&S legislation.
- Ensuring that the project(s) activities comply with the Company Environmental Procedures and Environmental Legislation.
- Ensuring that the project complies with the Company Carbon Management System and has appointed Carbon Lead.
- To support less experienced staff, sharing knowledge and acting as a coach or mentor.
Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer with MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering or similar.
Location
Manchester, UK is preferred however other UK locations will be considered.
