Within our MEP division, the engineering team plays a crucial role in the day-to-day delivery of planned works across a diverse range of properties and systems within large Mechanical, Plumbing & Electrical contracts.

Position: We’re looking for an experienced MEP Pre-Construction Manager to lead our preconstruction strategy and drive Gateway 2 and 3 submissions under the Building Safety Act. You’ll guide design consultants, shape compliant and buildable MEP solutions, and ensure designs align seamlessly with procurement for a smooth project start.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Gateway 2 and 3 technical submissions and maintain the 'Golden Thread.'
  • Challenge and review MEP designs for compliance, buildability, and realistic operational assumptions.
  • Coordinate consultants, specialist subcontractors, and internal teams to close design gaps early.
  • Link design milestones to procurement, support tendering, and lead value engineering workshops.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven background as a Pre-Construction MEP Manager.
  • Regulations: Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, particularly Gateway 2 (Building Control Approval) and Gateway 3 (Completion Certificate).
  • Technical Skill: Solid foundation in building services engineering with deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems.
  • Management: Confident in leading external design consultants and constructively challenging technical solutions.
  • Commercial Awareness: Ability to connect design decisions with procurement strategy, cost planning, and value engineering.
