Position: Dental Workplace Assessor – Part time (2 days per week)
Salary: up to £30,000 per annum pro rata (up to £28,500 pro rata for candidates not yet CAVA qualified)
Responsibilities:
- Book and carry out workplace assessments of Diploma in Dental Nursing learners within the required time period.
- Communicate effectively with practice managers and learners.
- Ensure the correct completion and submission of all assessment paperwork.
- Provide constructive feedback to the learner and practice manager in a sensitive manner.
- Prepare and support a small caseload of learners for EPA.
- Conduct health & safety and equal opportunities vetting and monitoring of practice, and provide guidance where necessary.
- Plan and prepare for each workplace assessment.
- Remain current in skills and knowledge of the dental sector and legislative requirements, maintaining GDC registration.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Training or Assessing Qualification, or willingness to acquire.
- Qualified Dental Nurse with a minimum of 2 years experience.
- Enhanced DBS Check on the Update Service, or willingness for one to be completed.
- Based in York or Hull to conduct workplace assessments.
- Ability to plan work effectively and meet deadlines.
- IT literate – effective use of MS Office.
- Experience of assessing the Dental Diploma/Advance Apprenticeship (desirable).
- Experience of working within work-based learning programmes (desirable).
