Responsibilities
- Coordinate the MDT to ensure the defined and assessed needs of patients are met, following evidence-based practice and the patients' care plan.
- Provide nursing leadership to qualified nursing staff, acting as a role model and encouraging service development in nursing practice.
- Build effective partnership relationships with patients and their significant others while being aware of patient clinical dependencies.
- Ensure clinical areas are safely staffed in respect of skill mix, competency, and numbers of staff, in relation to patient dependencies, clinical risk and appropriate resource allocation.
- Oversee the medicines management system to ensure medicines in the centre are ordered, stored, given and disposed of in line with the medicines management policies, and that all nursing staff are trained, competent and supervised in the administration of medicines.
- Provide coordination and oversight to the centre's GSF processes and accreditation.
- Serve as the IPC lead for the clinical areas, providing coordination and oversight to the centre's IPC processes.
- Coordinate the clinical admissions pathway, ensuring safe assessment and admission of patients.
- Take responsibility for the clinical budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and stock management procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Nurse with an active PIN.
- At least 5 years' experience in directly managing all aspects of clinical services in a similar setting.
- Experience in nursing and acute medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in clinical governance reporting and action plans linked to quality improvements.
- Safeguarding Lead experience desirable.
- Preferred: previous experience in A&E, ITU, HDU, CCU, Respiratory, or complex care settings.
- Ideally: experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care.
Additional Requirements
- Full time onsite. This role is not open to candidates who require sponsorship.
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check.
