About the Role

We Change Lives (WCL) is seeking a passionate and motivated Deputy Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in one of our community-based services, supporting colleagues and ensuring the highest quality of care and support for the people we serve. As a Community Team Manager, you will work under the direction of the Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a designated branch of the service. You will champion excellence, drive quality standards, and lead your team to deliver person-centred care that makes a real difference in people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Provide leadership and effective performance management for all colleagues employed in the service, promoting dignity, respect, and a culture of continuous improvement. Support the Service Manager in collating information for Service Development plans, delivering objectives, and analyzing monthly data with the Quality Lead and Operations Director.
  • Colleague Management: Oversee selection, recruitment, induction, retention, and development of all team members in accordance with legislation and company guidelines. Ensure appropriate skill mix and maintain effective supervision and communication.
  • Service Delivery: Promote a caring environment that follows the latest guidelines, best practice, and regulatory requirements. Ensure high standards of care, meet people’s clinical needs, and incorporate their preferences into service delivery. Maintain service satisfaction and manage complaints and concerns effectively.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with relatives, residents, purchasers, and external agencies. Foster strong community links and uphold the service’s reputation.
  • Safeguarding: Complete training on Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and the Mental Capacity Act. Report safeguarding concerns, maintain compliance with policies, and provide crisis support as required.
  • Financial Management: Support the Service Manager in achieving effective financial and commercial management, meeting income targets, and optimizing resource use. Maintain internal audit and review systems and meet key performance indicators.
  • Health & Safety: Uphold the duty of care under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, ensuring a safe work environment and compliance with health and safety legislation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in frontline leadership within community-based care settings.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies, the Mental Capacity Act, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse data, set objectives, and drive performance improvements.
  • Commitment to person-centred care and continuous professional development.
