About You

You are a strong people leader with a background in Electrical, Electronic or Control Systems Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent). You have proven experience working within automation, machinery or industrial engineering environments, where you have successfully delivered complex engineering solutions from concept through to implementation.

You bring strong technical knowledge of PLC, HMI and motion control systems (such as Siemens, Allen Bradley and Beckhoff), alongside an excellent understanding of control panel layouts and systems integration principles. You are experienced in managing engineering projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.

You have experience coordinating and working within cross-functional teams, including Software, Manufacturing and Service departments. You understand how to align multiple disciplines toward a common objective, ensuring clear communication, strong collaboration and efficient project delivery.

Analytical and proactive, you approach challenges with a structured, solution-focused mindset. You are highly organised, a confident communicator and committed to continuous improvement, consistently driving higher standards in quality, efficiency and performance across all aspects of your work.

About the Role

You will lead and coach a team of talented engineers, setting clear expectations and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. You will develop and maintain robust processes to ensure the timely release of all product definitions, including engineering models, drawings and associated software, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every stage.

Working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams including Sales, Drawing Office, Manufacturing and Purchasing, you will gather requirements and coordinate inputs to ensure on-time product releases that meet technical and commercial expectations.

A key aspect of the role is leading the design and implementation of software solutions that meet customer specifications and performance targets. You will provide technical guidance and hands-on support to Production and Service teams, resolving software-related issues efficiently and effectively.

You will also implement and maintain management systems to ensure all machinery complies with relevant industry standards, legislation and regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of safety, quality and reliability throughout the product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have experience coordinating or working within cross-functional teams, including software, electrical, manufacturing and service departments. You will be a confident communicator, highly organised, and committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of your work.
