We have a vacancy at our Kingswinford site for a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operative. You will be working as part of the Environmental team to ensure the needs of the business are met in a timely and effective manner according to the specification. You will be part of a fast paced, proactive team responsible for looking after the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the site effluent treatment plant and associated equipment operates to maximum efficiency and within West Midlands water consent levels, including discharge monitoring.
- Carry out regular cleaning of the effluent treatment plant, associated equipment and surrounding yard areas as detailed in site SOPs, including pre‑start checks.
- Perform regular testing of effluent discharge water to ensure limits are within consent levels as per site SOPs and WWTP operating guide.
- Maintain all external areas of responsibility to ABP standard, including cleaning of the bund and tanks and all yard areas adjacent to the WWTP.
- Check surface water monitoring points (SWMP) daily.
- Keep the drainage system operational and unblock drains in the yard.
- Assist the yard team with site waste collection and recycling activities, unloading deliveries when required (forklift training/license can be provided).
- Carry out basic maintenance in the WWTP (training provided) and assist the Engineering team with maintenance and repairs when required.
- Assist the Environmental Manager to ensure environmental site compliance and completion of all environmental tasks for the plant.
- Take an active role in driving treatment plant improvements and sustainability projects.
- Escalate any issues to the site Environmental Manager and Engineering Manager.
- Spend two weeks at one of our other sites as part of onboarding.
