We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join Suir Engineering Ltd. The position is based on a BESS project in Kilmarnock, Scotland.

Responsibilities

  • Use surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser levels to establish accurate points, lines, and levels onsite.
  • Interpret and analyze construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate setting out of construction elements.
  • Mark out reference points and guide construction teams to follow accurate dimensions.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of work, ensuring it meets project requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify any discrepancies or deviations from plans and work closely with the project team to resolve them.
  • Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of all setting out activities, measurements, and quality checks.
  • Prepare progress reports and provide feedback to senior engineers and project managers.
  • Ensure that all setting out equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in setting out engineering or a similar role in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying equipment is a must (e.g., Trimble, total stations, GPS, laser levels) and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites in Ireland.
