We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team based in Irvine. Booth Welsh is an engineering technology company delivering smart, sustainable solutions across industries including Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences, Energy, Manufacturing and Food & Beverage. Purpose of Role: To lead and coordinate quality assurance and control activities across the engineering design lifecycle, ensuring all outputs meet internal standards, client expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements. The role supports a culture of continuous improvement, technical discipline, and compliance within a professional engineering environment.

Qualifications:

  • HND/Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or equivalent.
  • Chartered or working toward professional membership (e.g., CQI, IMechE).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance (QA) & Governance: Develop, maintain and improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS). Develop, maintain and improve procedures, templates, and checklists for design and review processes. Ensure consistency of design deliverables across all engineering disciplines. Conduct internal audits and support external audit preparation.
  • Quality Control (QC): Implement systems for technical checking and peer review of design deliverables. Monitor quality gates and ensure review cycles are followed. Track and close out non-conformances and maintain CAPA register.
  • Training & Engagement: Deliver internal quality briefings and support technical training. Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Digital Quality Tools & Innovation: Support adoption of digital quality workflows and tools. Contribute to quality KPI tracking and reporting.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 with CQI/IRCA certified internal auditor training.
  • Understanding of multi-discipline deliverables and review processes.
  • Understanding of document control principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  • EPC/EPCM or client-side experience.
  • Experience in an engineering design environment.
  • Familiarity with quality tools and engineering platforms.
  • Technical background in engineering discipline.
  • Experience with Security vetting administration.
