Job Purpose

To supply a skilled technical service to ensure maximum equipment effectiveness to meet customer requirements.

Shifts: 4/4 off Days

Key Accountabilities:

  • Diagnose and repair HGV vehicles and trailers dealing with mechanical breakdowns to minimise unnecessary delays.
  • Provide mobile service work and emergency call-outs.
  • Provide technical knowledge, advice and skill to other team members.
  • Carry out 8-weekly inspections of vehicles.
  • Carry out preventative planned maintenance.
  • Carry out all other duties as directed by the Company.

Qualifications / Training:

  • Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle mechanics, maintenance and repair or equivalent (advantageous but not essential).
  • A clean driving licence is essential; HGV category C+E entitlement is advantageous but not essential.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of current legislation.
  • Working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Maintenance of HGV vehicles / trailers; good understanding of MOT standards.

Skills:

  • Ability to diagnose/repair mechanical breakdowns.
  • Trained in IOSH working safely.
  • Team player with a flexible Can Do attitude.
