JOB PURPOSE

Our drivers are the face of our business and ambassadors for Meldon Quarry. We strive to be No.1 for our customers and drivers and to do that we want the very best drivers.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of bagged aggregates to various customer locations across Devon and Cornwall.
  • Checking the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and recording its condition using the system provided, reporting any faults as they occur.
  • Caring for the company's vehicle and assets while in your charge, ensuring they are used in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and all legal and company requirements.
  • Driving as efficiently and productively as possible within prevailing road and traffic conditions.
  • Giving due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public and other road users at all times.
  • Complying with all relevant legislation, including Driver Hours and Working Time Directive requirements.
  • Ensuring all documentation is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Adhering to safe working practices at all times to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Representing the company both on the road and at customers' premises in a professional and considerate manner at all times, and reporting any issues to your manager or supervisor on the day.
  • Supporting the wider Meldon Quarry business to deliver its operational plans.
  • Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant workplace.
