To drive LGV/HGV vehicles and deliver goods and services as required. To drive company delivery vehicles and deliver its goods to customers efficiently and considerately whilst ensuring the health and safety of self, the public and other road users. To ensure the good maintenance and operation of the company's assets and to provide excellent service to customers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Check the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and record its condition using the system provided, promptly reporting any faults as they occur.
  • Care for the company's assets whilst in charge and ensure they are used according to manufacturer's recommendations to ensure effective long‑term performance.
  • Ensure the vehicle is securely loaded and restrained and that the vehicle weights are within the legally permitted limits.
  • Drive as efficiently and productively as possible within prevailing road traffic law.
  • Give due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public and other road users at all times.
  • Represent the company, both on the road and at the customers' premises, in a professional and considerate manner at all times and report promptly any matters likely to affect the company's business prospects.
  • Assist in yard and other duties as may be required when not driving or taking legally required breaks.
  • Complete reports and documentation to time and as accurately as possible to assist in the management of the business.
  • Contribute to the wellbeing and profitability of the business as far as it depends upon him/her.
  • Be responsible for compliance and discharging legal duties with regard to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant workplace.

Requirements for Role

  • Training on site on the day.
  • HGV Class 1 license.
  • Drivers CPC Card.
  • Valid Tachograph Card.
