What you'll be doing:
- Administrative oversight and co-ordination of all of the firm's Tier One, Tier Two and Tier Three governance bodies, including:
- Drafting and coordinating agendas;
- Drafting minutes;
- Co-ordinating and quality control around packs of papers;
- Circulating papers and engaging with recipients;
- Supporting stakeholder engagement.
- Prompting and enforcing deadlines / ensuring effective scheduling.
- Supporting the Governance Manager in the administrative oversight and coordination for 'Tier One' governance bodies (currently including the LGPSC Board and its sub-committees and the firm's subsidiary company boards), the Executive Committee and the company's annual shareholder meetings.
- Ensuring consistency and high standards of governance retained throughout the organisation.
- Timeously assisting with corporate filings with Companies House for the firm and its subsidiaries, including annual confirmation statements.
- Supporting the oversight and reporting around the integrity and efficiency of governance processes.
- Assisting with the management of key suppliers in support of the governance framework.
- Managing the 'effectiveness' reviews of the Tier One, Tier Two and Tier Three bodies.
- Oversight of the Company Structure Charts, ensuring these are maintained and updated appropriately (including the Governance Structure Chart).
- Assisting with the annual review of the Company's Committee Terms of Reference (Tier 1, 2 and 3).
Requirements:
- A track‑record of governance experience in the financial services or corporate sectors.
- An awareness of best practice governance principles and practice and experience in reinforcing those.
- The ability to operate to high standards of professional integrity.
- Excellent inter‑personal and relationship management skills.
- Highly organised and able to meet deadlines in a professional and timely manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be fully conversant in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and use of databases such as Excel, Word, Sharepoint, and have the ability to learn new software quickly (including board management tools).
- Desire to provide services within a culture of customer focus, continuous improvement and service excellence.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 4 or other qualification in Business Administration, Governance, Company Secretarial and/or equivalent in‑job experience operating in a governance type administrative role.
