Location: Royal Derby Hospital, Uttoxeter Road, Derby, DE22 3NE.

Contract: Fixed term 3‑6 months, 37.5 hours per week (Mon‑Fri), hybrid (3 days on site, 2 remote).

Salary: £24,979 per annum.

Overview: This client‑site based role is essential to the non‑clinical function. As a Patient Booking Administrator you will ensure smooth patient experiences and support the NHS.

Responsibilities:

  • Check referrals from acute service teams or GPs for patient suitability.
  • Contact suitable patients to offer appointments in line with trust/health board policy and record outcomes on Medinet and client systems.
  • Ensure patients receive and understand all required information and medications before appointments, escalating clinical queries to a nursing team member.
  • Log all patient contact in line with required processes.
  • Prepare patient notes and historical health information in readiness for appointments.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of appointment outcomes to allow follow‑up clinical activities and facilitate billing to Trust/Health Board clients.
  • Support clinical audit activities, checking historic patient outcome data or assisting with stock‑piling/ordering of equipment and medical consumables.
  • Engage and contribute to continuous improvement of care within Medinet, identifying operational and policy related changes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in patient appointment booking, ideally within the NHS.
  • Respiratory experience preferred; otherwise medical or healthcare experience acceptable.
