About the opportunity

You will provide financial analysis support to the service and project areas of TSG UK and analytical support for new business initiatives. This is a permanent staff position, based at our Longforgan site outside of Dundee.

Responsibilities

  • Use Excel and internal software to analyse data and produce clear, meaningful reports
  • Support month-end processes, including data gathering, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Responsible for the review and upload of sales invoices into accounting software from Operation systems
  • Support the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss reporting for the Service Division, including analysis of gross margins, customer profitability, and project performance
  • Provide analysis of actual performance versus budget, highlighting key variances and trends
  • Help identify opportunities to improve working capital, including stock and contract management
  • Work alongside the Senior Business Controller to support analysis of labour efficiency and operational performance
  • Assist in building relationships with key stakeholders across the business, including teams in Loughborough, Barnsley and Dundee and act as point of contact for the Service Division
  • Contribute to delivering insights that support decision-making and cost awareness across the Service Division
  • Participate in regular team reviews to support performance tracking and planning

Qualifications & skills

  • Proven track record of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work within strict deadlines and produce accurate and detailed work
  • Competency in all Microsoft Office package
  • Good communicator - ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Self-motivated and able to work under minimum supervision
  • Experience of working with bespoke financial packages is a bonus

Education

Degree Level Accountancy Qualification or equivalent industry experience is preferred.

Future Career Opportunities

The successful candidate in this role will have opportunities to progress into more senior finance roles, such as Senior Business Analyst and, in time, Finance Manager. Depending on performance and aptitude, there may also be scope to develop along the management accounting pathway.
