A vacancy has arisen for a Design Engineer to join our Engineering team within our contract based at Barnsley. The Design Engineer role exists to work either alone or as part of a team to provide a service support function for the engineering and projects business. The holder will be a qualified engineer with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience. They will have cradle to grave responsibility for overseeing the design phase of turnkey/multi-disciplinary contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Creating visual representations of structures and systems
- Creating comprehensive outline layout drawings
- Preparing sketches and measuring accessible equipment
- Creating drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
- Inspecting all designs for accuracy
- Knowledge of drafting procedures
- Knowledge of MS Office software
- Skilled in solid modelling and 3D features
- Find creative design solutions to problems
- Present prototypes and designs to Customers and Project Managers
Qualifications:
- A qualified engineer with a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in the design of industrial plants
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- Understanding of current legislation and practice relating to health and safety
- Hold UK Driving License
