The De-installation Assistant supports telecommunications site decommissioning activities across the Midlands and North UK, including unloading, removing, recovering cabling, dismantling infrastructure, and handling deliveries and collections.
Responsibilities
- Unload and de‑install telecom equipment from site vans.
- Recover redundant cable systems.
- Dismantle infrastructure such as unistrut, cable tray, and baskets.
- Move equipment to staging areas and load onto transport vehicles.
- Assist with deliveries and collections of equipment, consumables, and rack collections to client sites, recycling centres, and warehouses.
- Maintain accurate asset records: log serial numbers, support stock takes, prepare items for recycling or transport, and label stock.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Independent worker with strong teamwork skills.
- Physical strength and ability to safely handle heavy equipment (may require two people or lifting equipment).
- Self‑motivation to work under initiative while meeting quality and environmental standards.
- Proficient PC skills, especially Word and Excel.
- Valid driving licence (car).
- Willingness to travel and be away from home Monday to Thursday.
