We have an excellent opportunity for an Instrument Designer to join our design team with one of our long-term clients, based in North Ayrshire. Contract or Permanent staff positions on offer! 2-3 days site and the rest home working.

Location: Dalry, North Ayrshire Council, United Kingdom

Responsibilities:

  • Follow Engineer(s) guidance for implementation of client standards on projects
  • Implement best practices from previous client projects
  • Ensure all duties are carried out in line with all company policies and procedures
  • Follow Engineer(s) guidance for project timelines & priority of tasks
  • Identify to Engineers(s) any areas of technical expertise where support is required
  • Assist Instrument Engineers (and/or Electrical) to generate design calcs, schedules, docs & dwg sets
  • Consult with Engineer(s) for checks and approval of all designs
  • Signature Authority - limited to checking or generation of design drawings & docs, etc
  • Supervision of support team, e.g. other Designers or CAD Operators
  • Project Interaction with Doc Control - for external & internal project document transmittals
  • Provide Support for project designs (relevant to experience) in following:
    • Generation of Instrument Installation Design Drawing & Document sets
    • Generation of Electrical Installation Design Drawing & Document sets
    • Generation of Panel Design Drawing & Document sets
  • Assist with design calculations, schedules, documents & other drawing sets
  • Drawing Package expertise: AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
