About Twiss Green Lane: Twiss Green Lane 53 is a small residential home within an adapted bungalow in Culcheth. It provides long‑term housing for four people with learning and physical disabilities, many with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). The facility is occasionally used for short breaks away from a permanent home.

Job Summary: Provide person‑centred, high‑quality care to residents, supporting their personal care, behavioural support, independence, and relationships. Work under the direction of the Service Manager and assist with planning, supervision, and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor new colleagues during induction to support high‑quality care delivery.
  • Participate in supervision, observation, and appraisal processes.
  • Provide effective communication, including accurate written reports.
  • Follow WCL financial procedures.
  • Act in line with environmental and sustainability principles.
  • Contribute to clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Deliver high‑quality care in line with support plans and organisational policy (personal care, physical and mental support, medication, activities, engagement).
  • Seek and share the views and preferences of the people we support.
  • Promote high levels of satisfaction among people we support, families, colleagues, and commissioners.
  • Support the Service Manager with complaints and concerns following WCL policy.
  • Maintain positive relationships with families, the community, and external partners.
  • Implement safeguarding procedures and complete safeguarding of vulnerable adults and mental capacity act training.
  • Take reasonable care of own and others' health and safety.
  • Respect data protection, confidentiality per the Data Protection Act 2018 and ISO27001.

Qualifications:

  • Evidence of desire to professionally develop and willingness to learn (essential).
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities, older people, dementia, or mental health needs (desirable).
  • Recognised health or social care qualification (desirable).
  • Additional relevant training or qualifications (desirable).
  • Ability to handle basic numerical data, including simple financial information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook).
  • Ability to use WCL transport or own transport when required (desirable).
