Location: Dash Express Exeter, Hill Barton Depot, EX5 1DR

Reports to: Operations Manager

Pay: £15.50 per hour, average 50 hours per week, plus £1,000 joining bonus

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, Saturdays on rotation, start times 07:00 to route finish

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class 2 HGV vehicles for collection and delivery of palletised goods across the region.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
  • Ensure accurate loading, securing and unloading of palletised goods, following health & safety and company standards.
  • Complete scheduled collections and deliveries in a timely manner, maintaining high service standards.
  • Use HHT (Handheld Terminal) for scanning consignments and reporting discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding delays, issues, or route changes.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and collection records and complete end-of-day debrief.
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness and refuelling at the end of each shift.
  • Adhere to driver hours regulations, tachograph compliance, and all legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 2 (C licence) and up-to-date CPC qualification.
  • Previous experience in Class 2 HGV collection and delivery pallet driving.
  • Strong understanding of driver hours regulations and road safety.
  • Good time management and reliability.
  • Strong customer service skills and professional communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • All staff must pass a basic DBS check.
