Job Overview
Civils Ganger – Water Infrastructure Projects. The role is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful execution of civil projects across our operations within the water network infrastructure, both regionally and nationally.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring high‑quality, on‑schedule work completion
- Overseeing diverse tasks such as mains laying, ducting, draw pit construction, and reinstatement
- Performing various excavation techniques, including mechanical and manual digging
- Providing weekly safety, plant, and labour performance reports
- Providing technical guidance and supervision on civil engineering tasks
- Identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
- Ensuring that all work meets industry standards and regulations, conducting inspections, quality checks, and implementing any necessary corrective actions
- Coordinating plant and resource requirements with the Civils Site Manager
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are clearly communicated and strictly followed, while upholding high standards of safety and quality
Qualifications
- Experience in Civils Site Supervision; strong background in the water industry preferred
- Certifications: CSCS Supervisor Card, SSSTS training, CPCS Lift Supervision and Signaling, EUSR Blue Card, full UK driving licence
- Health & Safety: IOSH/NEBOSH/SMSTS (obtained or in progress)
- Customer Service: Strong focus
- Soft Skills: Influencing, organisational, problem‑solving, leadership, team collaboration
- Personality Traits: Assertive, confident, friendly, adaptable, safety‑conscious, tolerant, punctual, flexible
