Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in achieving full legal compliance with the Operators License, Health and Safety and Driver Hour Regulations.
- Design, develop and deliver effective driver induction and training programmes, and regularly monitor and review, ensuring statutory training requirements are met.
- Implement appropriate courses including tachograph, manual handling, fuel management, defensive driving and safety training.
- Deliver classroom presentations on Highway Code, driver hours, safe loading (steel), Health & Safety, and working time directive rules and regulations.
- Design and implement training and development programmes to improve operational efficiency.
- Produce training materials for in-house courses and manage delivery of training and development programmes.
- Consider costings of planned programmes and keep within budgets while assessing return on investment.
- Stay up to date with developments in training by reading journals, attending meetings and relevant courses.
- Review data from in-cab telematics and tachograph analysis systems (driver hour infringements, MPG, idling, harsh braking/acceleration) and agree a corrective training plan.
Qualifications:
- Driver and Training and Assessment Related qualifications (RTITB, RHA, SAFED and/or equivalent) – desirable.
- Train the Trainer/Assessor qualifications – desirable.
- JAUPT approved training assessor – desirable.
- CPC Qualification – desirable.
Skills:
- Full UK HGV driving licence.
- Ability to prepare effective written and visual teaching materials in line with course requirements.
- Ability to influence and communicate at all levels.
- Computer skills – Microsoft Office and TruTac.
- Good communication skills, interaction at all levels internal and external.
- Maintain high standards whilst working under pressure.
- Team player with a flexible 'Can Do' attitude.
Work Details:
- Hours of work: 45 hours per week.
- Work location: Carrington.
- Salary: £39,000.00 per annum.
- Work pattern: Monday to Friday (can vary depending on business needs).
- Start times: As discussed with Manager (can vary depending on business needs).
