We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Chef to join our team at Red Sea House. This role is vital in supporting residents’ health and wellbeing by providing nutritious, culturally appropriate meals in a safe and welcoming environment.
What you’ll do
- Plan, prepare, and deliver a varied, nutritious menu that reflects our residents’ cultural backgrounds and meets their individual dietary needs.
- Take responsibility for ordering and managing food supplies.
- Ensure the kitchen runs efficiently and cost effectively.
- Maintain exceptional standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.
- Contribute to the wellbeing of our residents through positive daily interactions.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Develop menus that reflect the cultural and dietary needs of residents, including consideration for community languages (e.g., Somali).
- Prepare and serve meals to a high standard, ensuring nutritional requirements and individual preferences are met.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic environment for residents, service users, visitors, and colleagues.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including up-to-date compliance with food safety legislation and Taff’s policies.
- Manage kitchen assistants and volunteers, providing guidance and support as required.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, residents, and external suppliers to deliver excellent service.
- Identify and report any safeguarding concerns, following Taff’s safeguarding procedures.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery and employment.
