We are looking for an entrepreneurial, hands‑on leader to serve as an Assistant Manager at our Select store in Canterbury. In this role you will own people development, training, scheduling, inventory, and merchandising, and partner with leadership to drive sales and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion, mentor and coach the Store Team Members (STMs).
- Support the delivery of the expected levels of customer service and store performance.
- Manage STM goals, appearance, performance and attendance in partnership with the Store Manager, Regional Store Manager and People Operations.
- Oversee daily operations on the shop floor, ensuring smooth flow for both sales and service.
- Maintain merchandising standards and oversee the store’s appearance.
- Handle customer complaints and returns, escalating when appropriate.
- Develop STM skills through training, coaching and regular reviews.
- Handle People Operations matters such as return‑to‑work interviews, investigations and performance reviews.
- Conduct store closure routine: manage duties, cash up and bank runs.
Essential Criteria
- 2+ years’ experience in retail.
- Prior people management experience.
- Passion for achieving targets and meeting required standards.
- Ability to maturely handle situations with appropriate temperament.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage and motivate staff.
- Trustworthiness, loyalty and hard work.
- Availability to work weekends and provide continuity.
- Interest in Apple technologies and a passion for customer service.

- Previous retail management preferred.
