ABP is one of Europe’s leading privately owned food processors. We have a vacancy for a skilled butcher at our Kingswinford site.
Responsibilities
- Working Monday to Friday 6:00 am – 4:00 pm; may be required to work outside of these hours.
- Working within the butchery team to complete the daily planning order to a high standard ensuring that quality and pace are maintained.
- Ensuring all products are boned out/trimmed to meet customer/company specifications whilst also maximising yield and minimising waste.
- Breakdown lamb cuts to customer/company specification.
- Carry out all tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly with regard to health and safety and food safety.
- Drive and deliver necessary processing efficiency through consistent and correct equipment operation.
- Ensuring strict adherence to quality, HSE, animal welfare, food safety, hygiene, ethical, product labelling and handling processes.
- Follow traceability process and ensure product and labelling integrity at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food production environment is essential.
- Ability to demonstrate knife skills for the skilled roles, or willingness to learn in semi‑skilled/trainee roles.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative while working as part of a team, striving to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
