Location: Botley, Southampton (travel to other sites required, with occasional overnight stays)

Salary: £36,000 per annum (competitive, dependent on experience) + company car provided

Role Accountabilities:

  • Support the Fleet Engineer in ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of fleet operations
  • Use technical expertise to promote and maintain a proactive fleet engineering culture
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of fleet‑related incidents
  • Help develop and maintain an effective fleet maintenance strategy
  • Ensure the tanker fleet remains roadworthy, compliant, and within operating budgets
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance to deliver quality, compliance, and cost efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications and experience of HGV engineering and maintenance (NVQ Level 3)
  • Knowledge of the operation and construction of vacuum tankers (desirable but not essential – training provided)
  • Solid understanding of transport legislation, compliance, and regulations, including dangerous goods (ADR)
  • Elevated level of IT literacy
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Dynamic with the ability to take initiative and manage time proactively to ensure high efficiency and output
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence required
