About the role
As a Senior Care Assistant (Team Leader) at our Dovecote Care Home in Milton Keynes you will be part of a compassionate and welcoming team providing physical, emotional, and social support. Your dedication, reliability and support will make a difference every day.
Working Hours
- 24 hours a week – Days 8am to 8pm – Must work alternate weekends
- 36 hours a week – Nights 8pm to 8am – Must work alternate weekends
Responsibilities
- Working alongside and mentoring a team of Care Assistants to ensure outstanding care is delivered at all times.
- Report to the Home Manager and collaborate with ancillary teams and other Senior Care Assistants within the home.
- Engage in meaningful activities with residents, always promoting independence, choice, dignity and respect.
- Create person‑centred care plans and risk assessments, and conduct regular updates and reviews.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience as a Team Leader with an NVQ 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care or three years’ experience without an NVQ.
- Experience in a nursing or care home or as a home care worker.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks – Care Quality Commission (CQC).
- Knowledge and practice of working with people suffering from dementia desirable.
- Previous experience prompting/administering medication using an electronic e‑MAR system desirable – full training and support provided.
