We are looking for a Bank Cook/Chef to join our Dovecote Care Home in Milton Keynes. The role involves preparing and cooking nutritious meals, maintaining quality assurance, and supervising kitchen staff while providing support to residents.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals using fresh ingredients.
- Schedule weekly meal menus, paying attention to individual dietary requirements.
- Coordinate with the Home Manager to order stock within budgetary limits.
- Work with healthcare professionals to tailor meal plans and dietary requirements to individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Maintain quality assurance systems within the kitchen.
- Supervise other kitchen team members.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, food hygiene, COSHH, and cross‑infection guidelines.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and respect.
Qualifications
- Experience cooking for large numbers.
- NVQ Level 2 in catering and hospitality.
- Minimum 2 years in a catering environment.
- 12 months experience in managing a kitchen.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
