About the Role
Medinet Group is a leading independent healthcare provider delivering high‑quality clinical services across the UK and Ireland. The role of Business Analyst supports data‑driven decision‑making across the organisation. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Insights & Service Development and key operational and commercial teams to deliver high‑quality dashboards, analytics, and reporting solutions. You will use your strong SQL capabilities, Power BI expertise, and experience extracting and transforming data from EMIS and Dynamics 365 to ensure stakeholders have timely, accurate insights. You will manage and maintain data models, support the data warehouse, document reporting processes, and translate business needs into scalable analytical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards to meet evolving business needs.
- Implement row‑level security and ensure appropriate Power BI application‑level security.
- Write DAX queries and perform dataset calculations to support reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting outputs.
- Document data flows, data models, and reporting logic in a clear, structured format.
- Extract, transform, and load data from EMIS (essential requirement).
- Work with SQL to support ETL processes from EMIS and Dynamics 365.
- Maintain and update the data warehouse to support efficient retrieval and reporting.
- Support system updates and enhancements related to data and reporting infrastructure.
- Work collaboratively with operational and commercial teams to understand reporting needs and develop meaningful data solutions.
- Provide analytical insights to support business improvement and service innovation projects.
- Identify performance trends, anomalies, and opportunities for operational enhancement.
- Present complex data insights clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Deliver high‑quality dashboards, reports, and visualisations aligned to business requirements.
- Convert business needs into technical specifications, producing and deploying Power BI scripts.
- Support ongoing business insight projects and organisational growth initiatives.
- Meet tight internal and external deadlines, including those set by senior executives or contracting authorities.
About You
Essential
- Proven experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards.
- Strong SQL skills with experience managing ETL processes.
- Hands‑on experience extracting data from EMIS.
- Understanding of DAX, data modelling, and data visualisation best practice.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex insights to non‑technical audiences.
- Experience implementing row‑level security within Power BI.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience working with Dynamics 365.
- Previous experience in healthcare or NHS settings.
- Knowledge of data warehouse structures.
- Experience analysing operational or service performance data.
