Join us and help transform technology for a more sustainable future.

The Opportunity: Our client is recruiting for an Apprentice Field Technician to join their team in Midlands.

About the role: During the 24 month apprenticeship, you will learn the responsibilities and accountabilities of a Field Technician, a key role within the Field Engineering Team. The role will involve:

  • Carrying out all field-based activities associated with building and testing new solutions and the de-commissioning and de-installation for customers both at customer premises and on Vodafone's core network sites.
  • Involvement in repair activity, including troubleshooting and replacing equipment at customer premises or within the core network.
  • Representing the brand and delivering an excellent level of service for business customers.

The role is physically demanding, requiring manual lifting, climbing stairs, walking and being on your feet for large parts of the day, in both indoor and outdoor environments. Tasks include internal and external rooftop work and the use of ladders up to 3 metres. Regular health assessments are required. After graduation, some portions may involve lone working, so efficiency, safety, and independent working ability are essential. You must be willing to travel and work away from home on occasion and be comfortable working at heights.

What we will be looking for in you: You are self-motivated with a keen sense of intrigue, a desire to fix anything, great communication and team-working skills, and a passion for making the customer experience the best in the industry. You should have the ability to work in a focused and flexible manner, putting customer needs first, and a flexible attitude to working hours. The team may need resources on shift or standby rotations, including weekday, weekend, and night work.

Requirements:

  • 18 years or older as of 1st September 2026.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and English at GCSE or A Level, or an equivalent qualification such as a Level 2 apprenticeship.
  • GCSEs in Science subjects desirable.
  • Lived in the EU for 3 years or more and have the right to work.
  • No qualification already at degree level or higher in the same subject.
  • No prior study of a similar level apprenticeship.

Upon successful completion, the Field Technician will be provided with a branded commercial vehicle and will be responsible for its parking at or near home.
